Domestic Violence

Domestic violence is a common issue in the Mukono District. Many of the women are not aware of what can be done and how they can be supported, many live in silence while facing dark situations at home. SWODIA offers help to women who are suffering from domestic violence.  This is achieved through counseling, life support, psychological support and teaching ways to correct the situation. SWODIA is one of the only programs that provide support for these women.

SWODIA’s work is based on solid and successful programs involving families that are victims of domestic violence. The goal is to end violence by educating the women and to construct a shelter where they can stay in a safe and healthy environment. Construction of housing is needed to provide a safe haven to the community.
