About Us

About Us

Shalom Women's Development Initiative Agency (SWODIA) was started with voluntary work at a community level in 2009 and was later institutionalized as a Community Based Organization (CBO) in 2011 with a mission to foster a holistic well-being through various leadership trainings, counseling, vocational training and by engaging in income-generating activities to the community.

Our Mission

Since 2009, Shalom Women’s Development Initiative Agency (SWODIA)’s mission is to provide physical, psychological, financial, emotional, spiritual and psychological support to marginalized and at-risk women, vulnerable children, orphans, youth and the elderly living in the Mukono district of Uganda.

SWODIA has personnel with the skills and knowledge to attend to children in all aspects and has the ability to implement most program projects.  However, SWODIA would like to and continues to strive to expand its capacity to increase its services to the community.

Education is the key for a better future and SWODIA works with the community to increase educational opportunities by providing education and training to clients.
